Visual Perception Evaluation with Semantic Differentiation Technique in Design Disciplines: Elazig Balakgazi Park

Visual perception studies in the public space are important improving and developing any space’s design features. This study aims to evaluate landscape architects’ visual of Balakgazi park city Elazig. Study methodology consists four stages: (1) Determining adjective pairs related feelings pleasure, excitement, dominance that effective evaluating design; (2) Preparation questionnaires; (3) Determination perceptions with semantic differentiation technique. At this stage, determined 18 were rated by participants according 7-point Likert scale (1=Negative, 7=Positive). (4) Statistical analysis obtained data. exploratory factor (EFA) was used group predominant participant perceptions. MANOVA determine whether factors changed socio-demographic characteristics (gender, age, education level, etc.). In study, responses 207 participants, 107 them architects 98 architects, evaluated. The data from both groups evaluated separately. main results show “Uninteresting-Interesting” got lowest score (2.74), highest “Complex-Simple” (4.67) architects. On other hand, “Insufficient Green-Green” (3.19) has value, while is (4.48). Landscape generally negatively pairs.
